Best axe mods?
Yeah I have some money so I was wondering what are the best mods to add to a clean axe and how much would they cost?

Well, Casey, it all depends on your build ... are you a W/Mo that wants to do more monking? use a 20% longer enchant mod ... are you a Mo/W that wants to do better in melee combat? Add furious, sundering(meh), vampiric mods ...
Let us know what your build is/professions are so that we can be more helpful with an answer |

I personally think that a Furious and defense upgrade is the way to go for a stander w/mo tank. As for farming I use Vampiric and Longer enchantment

I've done really well with a 3:1 vampiric and a +5 defense (much better than a health mod). I also carry a second axe without the vampiric (furious in my case) and a +5 defense ... I switch to that axe when I'm not fighting.

Cruel/Furious= not attacking; Vampiric (attacking)
Unless you are using conjures, I'd avoid elemental mods like shocking, fiery, ebon icy. As for grips: Defense +5; enchanting if you are W/Mo enchantment user. |

In this game you need several weapons for different situations. One specific weapon just won't do. When going up against casters I like the +7 Armor mods vs elemental attacks. Though the +5 is a nice average upgrade for both elemental and melee. I also like the zealous mod and like to use a +33% attack skill and get that energy build up faster. Then there are times I prefer the vampiric 3/1 mod and once again a speed of attack skill to build my hit points back faster. When my hp's go below 50% I like to pull out my Vampiric weapon of Fortitude and get that extra +29/30 hp's, plus the +2 from the Vampiric. You need 4 good "different" weapons in your weapons slots. One for each different situation. A great player will have this many.
I'm not a big fan of the +20% enchantments mods or the Sundering Mods 10% chance, when I can easily just use Judges Insight for a +20% bonus to penetration and holy damage. (Great against Necros and especially their pets). The Furious mod is useful if you use a lot of adrinilin skills. I don't so it's not useful to me. My build gives me practically unlimited energy in most cases (except against those pesky ME players lol) and I beat you to death in a few seconds. And one of those Candycane BOWS is great for a Warrior since it requires no attribute points to use. 15-15 is the best a Warrior can get for a bow. It has a short range though and appears to be the speed of short bow, but, great for pulling when using henchies. Of course PVP play and setups are different from PVE play and setups. In PVP I don't have to or need to bring as many heal skills (except in 4x4's) as I do or would in PVE, but, I solo a lot in PVE so I need much different builds, but, use the same 4 weapons except for I add a bow in PVE. |

I'd go for Vampiric or Zealous. They're your best bet really.

Zealous, I agree. Also depending on areas, look for icy/fiery/ebon etc damage grips for axes as sometimes creatures take more overall damage with them. Combo this with Essence Bond as a W/Mo, and you'll never run out of mana unless you aren't fighting. Zealous gives it on hit to enemy, and Essence on hit to yourself through physical damage. Voila. Mana pool filled.
